Everybody on Earth has an idea for something but not everybody thinks about their strategy to execute on their idea.  In this article, we are going to share with you 5 important web design elements you should digest and contemplate before building your website.

Identify Clear Cut Goals

Identifying your website goals is essential.  You may find yourself having ten different variables that you would like to see met on your website and that is a bad idea.  Less is more.  Steve Jobs was famous for focusing on what mattered most, rather than trying to be all things to all people.  Having this narrow-minded focus on what you want your website operation to harness, is something that you should not overlook.  Keep it simple and aim at your target.

Audience Demographics

When it comes to website design, you don’t want to design a baseball site if your audience happens to be musicians.  Now, we may be exaggerating the point but for good reason, we simply wish for you to be clear for who you are developing your website for.  Is your site going to aim at an age demographic of 18-34, 34-50, 50-75?  Is your ideal customer based in the United States, Australia or the United Kingdom? Everything trickles down to having your ideal customers come visit your website to purchase whatever you may be selling.

Data

It’s a good rule of thumb to have the ability to read statistical data.  There are free tools online such as Google Analytics and other tools online that you can pay for.  It all depends on how robust your budget is but the importance of reading big data based on the traffic your users are sending is a must know about. It is highly recommended to hire a professional who understands your website goals and can work with you to read between the lines based on the metrics you are receiving and the metrics you wish to receive for your website.

Visually Aesthetic

Your website should be visually appealing to the user’s eye.  No one likes a website with broken links, bad images, and terrible navigation flow.  Make sure you have things marked out and blueprinted beforehand so your website functionality will have an easy flow for your customer.  Have things easy to read with good font usage, page placement, and information that will be useful for the visitor. A strong website that functions well and is visually appealing is a tremendous way to spread word of mouth marketing.

Mobile

Everything today is mobile based and connected online.  If you are looking to start an online business website, you need to be compatible with mobile.  Having a mobile ready responsive website is one of the smartest things you can do.  Society is dominated by smartphone.  More than half of internet users gravitate to mobile to search online and make purchases.  Depending on the nature of your business, this is something you must factor in for growth and market share within your industry.
